Paul McCartney performed a live concert June 27 for Born HIV Free, a campaign by Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first lady of France, to raise awareness of and support for the prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV. The concert was part of the fifth annual Hard Rock Calling festival in London. McCartney’s donated set was the first European show to be streamed live on YouTube. Thousands watched and signed an online petition. The campaign supports the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
