I think it is terrible how they can waste much needed money. If it is to help people live a better life then fine. These programs have been cut drastically and in New York there are many people who needs assist for housing, health care and living arrangements. The funds are there because of the people who need them, if not for them there would be no money.

I agree that there should be more controls around the spending, but this part about needing housing $ in New York! There are no funds for housing here! Everyone pays their own way to live here! Too bad the money wasn't distributed a little more equitably. I know many people struggling to pay their bills or to eat - even with ASO help - because they don't make enough from working or the rent is too high to pay. For those who are on SSDI or SSI, its harder. Try living like that!
