The federal government is still investigating workers at the Rose Cancer Center in Mississippi who were charged with Medicare and Medicaid fraud and using watered-down chemotherapy drugs and old syringes, The Associated Press (AP) reports. Prosecutors asked for the May 2 court date to be pushed back in order to investigate additional illegal activity by some or all of the current defendants, as well as the acts of others not currently charged. The Mississippi Health Department closed the clinic in 2011 because of “unsafe infection control practices.” Since then, hundreds of its clients have been tested for HIV and other diseases.
