New York City Council budget details for proposed HIV/AIDS funding in fiscal year 2010–2011 are in, according to the Housing Works blog. Funding was not cut for HIV/AIDS Service Administration managers who link people to government benefits, but it was cut for case managers hired by outside organizations that provide supportive housing. Other initiatives to receive cuts: NYC Communities of Color HIV/AIDS, the Injection Drug Users Health Alliance, AIDS Prevention and Health Literacy for Seniors, and the HIV/AIDS Faith-Based Initiative. However, rapid HIV testing was not cut.
