March 1, 2006—Pap tests accurately detect abnormal and cancerous cervical cells in HIV positive women after all, according to a study in the journal Clinical and Infectious Diseases. Positive women face an increased risk of the disease, and earlier findings that cast doubt on the tests had raised alarm.
