I watched all of the Real World when Pedro was on it, like other tv shows I never thought he’d really leave us. I felt so MANY of the same things he had, & it was the first time hiv /aids was talked about so openly. I do thank MTV for being brave. I cried for days when Pedro passed & I felt a huge loss of myself after. Because this could be me at anytime. I didn’t believe my family ever thought I would die either. I’m still here 26 yrs after my diagnosis in 93’. PEACE ✌️ forever Pedro!!!!

It’s terrible and moving to hear him talking about his future and plan his transfer to San Francisco in september, knowing that in september he would have been suffering in a hospital in Miami, already unable to speak and just waiting to die. Pedro completely changed my view of life, he was such an extraordinary person...who knows what he would have achieved if he hadn’t had to die so young. Pedro is my hero and he will always be remembered and missed. Love fronte Italy

Feb 7 2015, I never knew that Pedro died. Just stumbled on his story after the Bruce Jenner car accident. Pedro was a class act, and he had guts. To die at the age of 22 is a total shame. I read about 5 articles about him in the last hour or so, and it really made an impression on me, a tearful impression. People, be safe and careful with your sexuality !

Thanks for remembrance of Pedro Zamora~, his story and this timeless important Article. As a Positive person myself, what did I learn from his tireless Campaign?? New stories in both Gay newspapers and POZ. magazines are right. The whole Gay community and it's Minorities need to put all Hiv/AIDS issues, back on the forefront of major Life causes. Thank you for the forum.

...and that no one hardly even knows what a red ribbon is for. I was diagnosed at 21 and will never forget Pedro Zamora and his contribution to the world. It's frustrating knowing he died 2 years before the advent of HAART, but that was also the unfortunate case with thousands upon thousands. huh- I even remember watching the episodes when he was dating Sean and what it meant to me -a young gay boy of 12. Pedro Zamora really helped pave the road for HIV awareness and education. Thank you Pedro.

God bless you Pedro. This article really moved me to tears,...what an incredible young man and a hero forever to the HIV/AIDS community. I remember watching him on "the real world" when I was 12 or 13 years old,...the whole world was....he was the first that I remember and maybe the last (b/c of the lack of HIV/AIDS awareness today) positive person to get that much media attention, and to have really put himself out there to educate people on national TV. It seems like no one cares today and
