What is wrong with our politicians? What don't they realize? Cutting back on vital HIV/AIDS Programs will definitely hurt our progress in curtailing this dreaded disease. More and more research is needed and with the development for cures and now they are going to cut funding!! Instead of taking away the funding, lets use the 41 billion dollars that our gov't gives the oil companys for reaearch, let them use their profits from the oil companies to work on their own research. Don't you agree.

Yikes and Dawn...Agreed. I don't even understand how its politically feasible that nearly 10k people are languishing on ADAP wait lists while we donate money and drugs to other countries. Dan and Ted...Your sanctimony is an indication of how this site and its sister message board become more toxic by the day. Get over yourselves.

It's unfortunate that the US Government's mismanagement of funds has to affect programs with life or death sentenecs. Who was it that said "Nobody should have to die waiting on health care"?Perhaps the US should consider shoring up all it's own health care needs before contributing to the world in general. The money spent on PEPFAR by "W" alone would probably solve our problems here for years.

what i would like to know is how we can spend billions of dollars on wars. when people at home are dieing of hiv/aids because there is no money to help us. does the goverment just want us to fall off the face of the earth like we are nothing.they do not think that we have paid our taxes just like everone else but when we need help it is like we are not even here.and those of use that can no longer work are told sorry we can not help you. find a job.we have to be dead before they help us anymore

Ted from Columbus...be careful! At 22 years old, I made love and became infected. We didn't have too much info regarding prevention. However, it's time for gay men to halt their epidemic. This notion of returning to our wild 70s sex rages is back. I don't understand how gay men are testing poz in 2011. Stop the crystal meth. Stop the "E." And start a self-worth talk therapy. I'm 26 years poz, working everyday with NO insurance. I need my meds right now. But, gay "boys", it's time to be men.

Maybe sexually promiscuous HIV/AIDS persons ought to get their moral house in order. I, as a HIV/AIDS patient have been celibate for many years. What you sow is what you reap. For me, I have been rewarded for not being sexually active with anyone -My life with HIV/AIDS has gotten better since I thought about loving my neighbor enough, to not infect them. The cost drops when people do the right thing. Sexual whores have been raping the tax payer, now the gig is up; they're crying. No sorrow 4 U.

Republicans are wanting to cut HIV funding and research programs. do they want to see more people get infected?what about they're family members? one of them could be HIV pos.and just don't know it.Why not just drop a bomb on the world that would be much quicker.Think about it.
