Thank you soo much for this story. I needed to know I'm not alone and there is a reason to keep going. I sometime feel like giving up and can't find a reason to keep going. Thank you.
Thank you for the inspiring story on Get Wet's Sharri Lewis. I was part way through the story when I realized that, when I got to the lyrics (of "Just So Lonely"), I was quite familiar with the record. I was a DJ in the nightclub "Babylon" in Houston, TX, back in 1981, and I had played the record many times. Being an HIV survivor since 1984, with 15 years of club DJ-ing/partying, I saw many of the crowds and my friends die off with AIDS. She makes me feel I'll be OK, instead of another victim.
Great article, Kellee, about an AMAZING person...an inspiration to succeed for those of us who are infected and struggling. Rock stardom is fleeting (Cyndi Who?) but REALNESS is forever. THANKS Sherri!! You DO rock!!!
I am a registered nurse. You are probably thinking she could have any nursing job out there but I would like to work with HIV clients in a non-clinical setting.
I really enjoyed this article! What perserverance of a woman who beat a lot of odds and still came through it all as a shinning STAR.
Thank you for a wonderful article on a very special woman.
I'm not the kind of guy who writes fan mail letters; but, I wrote one to Sherri. She was kind enough to send a reply...which is something that doesn't always happen with my emails to people. She seems to be a really wonderful, down to earth kind of girl, sincerely interested in other people. Thanks, Kellee, for writing your article bringing out the best in people.
Iris
I cannnot find the words to express how this article has touched me. How can I contact Sherri? Does she have an email address that she shares with others? Thank you
