IOW, let's follow this current "advocacy" to its likely outcomes; 1). Drugs drain the blood reservoirs, we see reinfection from the brain, the cure naysayers immediately call for an end to the search for a cure. 2). Drugs don't work, the cure naysayers immediately call for an end to a search for a cure. 3). Drugs work really well and activate HIV in the brain, causing untreatable encephalitis. Subjects die awful deaths, the cure naysayers immediately call for an end to cure research.

But will these drugs also work in the brain, and can we control virus in the brain if they do? What's frustrating about cure research is that it pursues paths long after they've become obvious dead ends. For instance, look no further than the years we wasted testing "treatment intensification". We already know HIV lives in the brain, and we already know current therapies don't work there. Address this, or all these plasma studies are just a waste of tiime.
