A "less is more," approach definitely needs to be taken with screenings and treatments. I just racked up over $40K in charges for a high-resolution anoscopy, $8,300 of which I will have to somehow pay, only to find out the "dysplasia" noted on an anal pap smear was "probably," caused by a small fissure. I do not have dysplasia or anal cancer--now I am deeply in debt and am very bitter at the anxiety, severe pain (caused by needless biopsies) and the steep debt resulting from this procedure.

I am glad I read all of this! I have resently diagnosed with anal wart cosed by HPV. I hope using Aldara I will escape surgery!
