WNBA star Candice Wiggins hosted the annual Angelwish Holiday Giving Spree on December 22 at The Scholastic Store in New York City. Twenty New York schoolchildren were given wish lists and the opportunity to take over the bookstore to shop for disadvantaged children who are either infected with or affected by HIV/AIDS.

Wiggins’s father, Alan, was a professional baseball player with the Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres. He died of an AIDS-related illness when Candice was 3 years old. Today, she is a role model for families living with HIV/AIDS, and she’s the founder of The Candice Wiggins Foundation Fund. Angelwish is a New York City–based organization dedicated to helping children living with HIV/AIDS throughout the United States.
