The Washington, DC–based Whitman-Walker Clinic (WWC) announced a 4 percent gain in its operating budget for 2010, its first positive result in almost a decade, according to a WWC statement. At the same time, WWC got high-quality marks in service. In both 2007 and 2008, WWC had more than $4 million in losses. In 2009, WWC brought the losses down to just over $750,000. For 2011, WWC is projecting a 2 percent operating gain, even while experiencing a 30 percent increase in patients.
