This subject is now coming into reality from the aftermath of the 80s crisis at that time. This article is very encouraging, along with many who are after 50 yrs of age, this is a new day with newer horizons for all who are living with HIV/AIDS. This will be very exciting to be a part of as we age, and learn more into our futures for a healthy life, from were this had all began.
Class of 1985 here as well! I'm so glad that you made it this far. As you have discovered, finding meaning in life and purpose has been absolutely critical to maintaining peace of mind and physical well-being. Congratulations on your advocacy work.
Oh boy you people make everything sound so good, life is good. Take off the rose colored glasses. There is nothing out there. There are no resources out here in Az. Even my infectious disease Dr told me my case was to complicated for him. There are no support systems, no groups, Me and my dog are scraping by. Reaction after reaction to HIV meds. Hell I wonder if I'm going to make it to 60 and my birthday is next month. Insurance company does not pay for much.
I think its wonderful you're a long time survivor, as I am as well I was diagnosed in 1985, and I'm still kicking...lol I've had a few bumps in the road, but all in all I have great family support and a wonderful life partner of 20 years. He's Negative. Glad to hear positive stories
