The AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will take part in the 2014 Rose Parade in California on New Year’s Day for the third year in a row, according to an AHF statement. “Living the Dream” is the float title, which plays off the “Dreams Come True” theme of the parade. To underscore the float title, “Love Is the Best Protection” is the theme of the AHF float. The group claims marriage equality plays a role in reducing new HIV cases among gay men. To embody these concepts, AHF has arranged for a same-sex wedding to be performed on its float live during the parade. Aubrey Loots and Danny Leclair, a gay male couple from Los Angeles together for more than a decade, will legally marry. Joining them on the float will be Sharon Raphael and Mina Meyer, a lesbian couple together 42 years legally married in California in 2008.
