A new round of grants from the GMT Initiative at amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, will expand HIV prevention and access to treatment and care in Latin America for gay men, other men who have sex with men (MSM) and transgender people, which together amfAR refers to as “GMT,” according to an amfAR statement. The Elton John AIDS Foundation also supports the grants. More than $177,000 will be awarded to nine groups in Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Venezuela.
