With the amazing success of PrEP, I can only imagine the back rooms and dark terraces and baths etc. reopening. Many younger gay men have commented that they regret having missed the pre-AIDS days and the wholesale promiscuity that was part and parcel of gay men’ lives in that pre-AIDS time of innocence when we thought the worst possible problems could be cured by penicillin. Having multiple partners every night did a huge amount of damage- pray we have learned that there is a better way!
