RZ, Unfortunately this falls under a blanket policy of the BBC. Perhaps with strong objections, the BBC may reexamine their policy. A pink ribbon would also be a violation.
BTW, England is a foreign country, and has nothing to do with American civil rights. Kind of like Dr. Laura being banned from Canada airwaves. She hollered about her first amendment rights, but those rights don't apply in Canada. We could write to the BBC and say that we are offended by this, perhaps boycotting BBC America.
It's infuriating that my civil rights are a political issue. Do they permit pink ribbons for breast cancer? Do they think that gay people choose to be HIV+, so deserve to be stigmatized? We're all human and sex is a very powerful force, some of us get pregnant, some of us get HIV.

This is shameful coming from the BBc who seek to brush the AIDS pandemic under the carpet and by doing so are complicit in the further spread of the disease. HIV is here and NOW not some pandemic that occurred in the 80's and went away. Shame on you BBC.
