I so desperately wish that I could have this procedure. I conracted HIV when I was a child, due to molestation and rape. Every night I pray for a cure, but every time we get close to one, something gets in the way. I think all the risks considered should be at the discretion to elect for this "alternative therapy" But unless it's coupled with luekemia then it's not an option.

I have been Positive my whole life and didn't know until I was five years old. I'm 25 years old and I have been told about so many so called cures I mean I hope it is but I'm not getting my hopes up

Hey, these types of transplants are not fun... I've been a donor and now I could be potential to be the recipeint. But pain and fatique for a short period of time (compared to your entire life) to cure a terminal illness can be worth it to some individuals...

Stem cell research should be used to mass clone the resistant donor's tissue (does it really HAVE to be bone marrow?), and then inject it in poz people.

I am still not sure if the medicin really want to solve the AIDS problem... its good money making... no? And its marketing n PR wise perfectly to come up with some -hope- stories. Dont get me wrong, I am POZ too...and just try to think realistic.. and yes, of course I still hope for it....

I think that it sounds promising that one day research can make a way for a mass cure. I have lost two loves ones to AIDS in 1994.
