In my personal case, I have a distinct and clear decline in mental functioning since AIDS diagnosis after 19 years of being HIV+. My frustration lies within reporting this to my HIV medical care team and my psychologists and being met with being told I'm just fine and no signs of mental decline. I cannot imagine, based upon these findings, that HIV has not significantly altered my brain and CNS to the point where doctors should intervene when possible. It's very frustrating seeking solutions.
