Circumcision May Not Be Effective HIV Prevention in Britain... OR ANYWHERE! How about POZ do an in-depth expose of this whole "circumcision to prevent HIV" SCAM!
Tops can get HIV. I am and was a top, only once in my life did I have recpetive annal sex, that was long before HIV and he never got HIV. i got it from my bottom sexual partner. Tops can and do get HIV.
Have been saying using circumcision, as a way to reduce HIV infection, is a false idea. the people in Africa in the first studies, you were matching, groups of men who were cut, and those who were uncut, and their infection. Less cut men were infected, but the reason can be all kinds of cultural artifacts, sanitation, and other reasons. To use circumcision to prevent HIV will leave to deaths, many African boys die to to infection from circumcision.
Sorry boluke, but one CAN be infected being "a top." The urethra is a mucus-membrane, and if the virus comes in contact with it, you can become infected. How do you think straight men become infected from women?
The way this article is worded makes me wonder what's so special about a Brit's penis. Seriously though, circumcision is mutilation, and I really resent that very personal decision being made for me as an infant. Every article I've read claims that the head of the penis is meant to be protected by the foreskin.
Just seen the comment from boluke. How stupid are you. Of course there is a chance of a Top picking up HIV from unprotected sex. You need to learn the facts before you start posting such stupid comments. I recommend www.thebody.com.
I'm with Christopher Hitchens on this one - genital mutilation is NOT the way to go, whatever the issue! In a culture that knows about soap and water, circumcision is barbaric, cruel and simply not helpful.

It's obvious that either way men will still get infected with the virus. Circumcised men are equally at risk for infection as uncut men. I never believed those researchers that have done investigations on African men. The main protection is using condoms, hygiene or not sex at all!!
