While all the positives mentioned may occur, it also occurs that you can find yourself in a dud study. Being in a dud study is not without its costs, time and maybe opportunity cost while certain treatments or treatment changes are banned. PLWH need to be ready to jump ship if the study they are on does not provide benefits.

All the trials on Clinicaltrials.gov prevent people over 65 from participating. This is a problem. Most of the people living with HIV are getting older and will not be allowed to be studied. Bad idea there.
