The questionnaire and the interpretation of the answers are so nebulous as to be meaningless. What does the person polled understand as “being careful” around people with HIV? Having sex? Sharing needles in IV drug use? It’s left up to anyone’s interpretation. Here are the facts: In 2018, 37,968 people in the United States (including dependent areas) were diagnosed with HIV. Therefore, the disease is being transmitted, and anyone with half a brain knows this. Care is well warranted.
