Hi there, these are all good news but seems like most of the so call cures can only be conducted via specialist in stringent laboratory environment. Which means that it may still be hard to reach for most. Only hope there are better alternatives to the HAART which are chemicals which may intoxicate the body system and function beyond repair. I have contracted HIV couple months ago. Can I hope something like subcutaneous injection or IV drugs or drugs Cytodyn PRO140 can shape the future of cure

It appears is not good enough! As you write, There are some companies that appear to have been motivated for as long as cure research has been prominent, like Merck and Gilead. It appears is just not good enough. Your article seems more of list of pharmaceutical companies promoting a list of meds they are selling. I do not see a hint of proof for a cure in your article. I forgot the study number I was on but one arm seemed designed to kill subjects because it did and one drug was a generic that when combined with DDI cured some people in Europe. It was used with 7 or 8 other drugs, the study was done sometime in 1999. The arm I was on being treatment naïve showed Sustiva to not work once a day with DDI. My point is that no Drug company or the NIAID will pay to cure anyone especially with generic (out of patent) drugs.

I think most of Pharma think the cure is here with their drugs, and the AFAR gentlemen must not be HIV positive for the word cure means more to HIV people then to the belt way folks or the sale reps at PHARMA. Just the mention of a cure and people getting behind the concept in the last 3 years has brought hope and rarely spoken in HIV circles, where one young man stated because of what he learned from a scientist that once you have AIDS, you always have AIDS. I glad Tony finely speaking hope
