This article makes cure advocates sound histrionic and naive. That's hypocritical, coming from a magazine that sells costly prevention drugs for the privileged as an alternative to medical horror stories. I participated in this survey and am a staunch lay advocate of a cure. My interest is hardly "no matter the risks". I believe that people with HIV deserve better though, and I'm certainly comfortable with some risk. We've been forsaken, if we don't put ourselves on the line, we're doomed.
I would like to be in any test research.
hi i have been hiv positive for 10 years and started my ARV Treatment Tenofovir 3 years ago i would like to part of the cure
I would do it solely for the purpose that no one else would have to go through the numerous medical appointments, test, treatments and hospitalizations that I have to endured over that past 29+ years, let alone the money I have spent on my HIV/AIDS care....
I took AZT in a drug study back in 1990 when it was a purple liquid. I've nearly died in some of these studies. And when I die, they can study me some more. Then roll me up and smoke me. I'm sure there's some medicinal uses with all I've taken for the cause. Big pharmaceutical didn't even say thank you. But my HIV peers have. I'll make my own t-shirt.

I don't have problem being a lab rat if it benefits other HIV peer so that they don't have to go through all difficulties we are going through at present. But the question is " Is that sacrifice worth doing"? Eventually, if these companies and researchers find cure, they are going to charge thousands and millions of dollars for treatment and cure. we might actually helping someone to get rich and fat.
