Dennis Daniel, the comptroller of Smart + Strong, which is the parent company of POZ, has died after a battle with cancer. He was 54. Daniel worked with POZ founder Sean Strub before the launch of the magazine, was part of its launch and stayed with the company until he died. He and his former partner Nick Pippin founded the People With AIDS Theatre Workshop. Pippin died in 1990. Daniel—a native of Louisiana and a lover of Mardi Gras—is survived by his current partner Ken Lundie and his extended family.
