Sorry Jeffrey. I have lost THREE jobs because I am gay and was denied coverage for meds by one. Do not EVER come to Missouri if you do not want to experience total discrimination. What a mistake it was for me to move here.
This does not suprise me. I have been living with it for 27 years, and have been there. Sometimes it is better to just let it go, because it will be a he said/she said battle. I just hope that the "newbies" make a mental note of this. Since the ads for HIV meds have glamorized it. I can take a pill, and live with it attitude needs to end. Where are the real people with lipo, and lido, and what about all the side effects of the meds. Elevated triglycerides, which can cause heart disease.Just sayin
At my former job, they would make their jokes about my status in secret like cowards. Their ignorance was very clear, but no one ever dared say anything to me personally. My work was better than most (if not all) of them, so the bosses really couldn't fire me without facing legal action. Instead, employees would play Queen on the radio. I eventually resigned, not really b/c of them. I just realized how boring the job was. Plus no one worked as hard as I did. It was kinda pathetic TBH lol.

I am so glad that you are taking a stand not just for yourself but for all of us with HIV! I was once turned down for a job because I might staple my finger. What a load of crap!
