I'd like to see doctors take a broader approach to testing. I'm 70, monogamous, and do not fit any profile, yet I have tested positive for HIV. My husband also died in 2009 following a couple years of doctors not figuring out what was wrong. I know think he probably was HIV+ but because neither of us fit the profile, no doctor thought to test us. You can't treat with ARVs if you don't know a person is positive. At least, there should be testing when no one can figure out what's wrong,.

If funding is being allocated to abstinence, then what happens to those of us who need Meds but can't afford them. Example my partner will retire soon and I will not have insurance and my job doesn't offer health care plans. What are people in my situation to do other than just die. We hand out hiv drugs to other nation like candy. Why not take care of our own people first.
