My Medicare D through Humania Centerwell paid for Egrifta for 2 years and then refused approval recently. I have an enlarged fatty liver with fibrosis. I've took Prezcobix for many years and protese inhibitors before that with 28 years HIV. I'm 66 now. All of my HIV drugs have continued to cost more each year even though I've took the same 20 years. Dieting and exercise apparently does not help. The cure that kills you in the end.

It has been 3 months since I started Egrifta. I would like to know if I should get it for 52 weeks or less. CT Scan showed a build up of fatty tissue on my liver but, is not associated with alcohol. One more question: How does Egrifta may interfere with renal function?

My doctor only wanted me to take 1 mg of egrifta so I ordered from Humana specialty pharmacy which tells me they only keep it in 2mg SV vials now (new formula) I was only approved for 1 mg so now I have to be reapproved for 2 mg of which I will have to waste half of in toilet. Sad that Insurance companies now tell doctors what is suggested and only available.
