I feel like it's nobody's business if you are HIV+ or not. Especially an employer. You could easily be judged or discriminated against if you were to say yes. I think employers not being allowed to ask this question is important for the equal right to employment. Maybe in some very specific jobs that HIV could be transmitted by the work you are doing but those jobs probably don't even exist. It's like asking someone if they're christian.
This is insane. Employers should be banned from asking any questions about STIs. Asking you if you can lift 25 pounds is reasonable; however, there's no logical reason to ask about HIV. Life is tough enough but when you add HIV and poverty, it's almost not worth living. There's too much stigma and too many barriers. When will it end?

Just curious, you said something about giving a fallacious response to a legally posed question, but if those posing the question have no legal right to do so, is the responder still so compelled?
