Ambassador Eric Goosby has resigned as the U.S. global AIDS coordinator, which oversees the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), The Wall Street Journal reports. He also has stepped down as head of the new Office of Global Health Diplomacy. Goosby will join the University of California, San Francisco as a professor focused on how to help developing countries get their health programs operational. Before heading PEPFAR in 2009, Goosby was CEO and chief medical officer of Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation. He has held various senior roles in government in his more than 25 years of experience with HIV/AIDS.
