well that is what i dont understand about viral load and CD4 i have positive since 2002 and my CD4 is still 550 for the last 6 years but my viral load is high but it is starting to reduce now to 17 000 and i never been sick and been to hospital and here in UK u canot start medication if ur CD4 is above 350. truely I want to understand which the best measure to start medication is it when ur viral load is higher than 10,000 or ur cd4?

I too am confused. Been poz since 2012, CD4 is 1008 VL less then 10,000. I have fatigue problems at time. I want to know why is the standard different in the UK, also why the push to start med's as soon as you test poz?? Why not have study trials to help the immune system fight the virus and allow those who never started med's be in the trial?
