Starting an exercise program is an important step to maintaining and/or improving your health, regardless of HIV status.

Unless you have another medical condition, injury or are taking a medication that would preclude you from working out, exercising is beneficial.

Different types of exercise can help strength, balance, mood, and memory, help control cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, bone density and much more. It is important to start slowly and gradually increase. The most common mistake is doing too much too soon.

It may seem like adding exercise one or two days per week won’t matter, but it will. Remember, any exercise that is more than you are doing right now will benefit you. Please check with your physician first.
