HIV-positive people are recommended to get a flu shot every year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) also recommends vaccines against tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis, as well as pneumococcal infection, hepatitis B and human papillomavirus virus (HPV). If your CD4 count is above 200, the CDC also recommends vaccines against measles, mumps and rubella, as well as varicella (chicken pox).
