At first, the work of Felix Gonzalez-Torres intrigued and baffled me, but once I learned more of his life history and the context in which he created his art, the work took on a much more profound and inspiring meaning. I'd never say my interpretations are the ONLY or correct viewpoints, but ... HOW DARE people try to erase these aspects to his life and work! It's like they're erasing queer/Latino/HIV history in the process. ... Thanks for pointing this out in such a well-written article.
