to Ed, Phila... Are you suggesting that gay people 'apologize' to hemophilics for HIV? Everyone infected with HIV, including gay people, are innocent. it doesn't matter how you got the virus. No one knew what HIV was when it first surfaced, hence no one knew to look for it until it was too late. If you want to blame someone, blame the blood centers.

It is astounding that none of the high rish groups have ever come forward to take responsibility for the infection of innocent parties and the virtual holocaust which they inflicted on the hemophiliac community. Keep the ban on ALL of the groups.

I think that the FDA should lift this ban, but still ask the same questions, and those MSM or in any of the high risk groups, they then should test their blood twice at least for the HIV infection. If the person is found HIV+ then they be notified and then not be able to donate again.
