For those of us that have survived the last 40 years Speaking for myself mental health is a fragile patch work or repairs open wounds. The Die off 2-4 funerals a week sometimes 2 the same day, it was to much we had to put the good face on, pretend at work because being gay got you fired all to often. We either jumped into addiction or built strenght in time the strength became thin and brittle, easily shattered. Fewer that understand with each new day.

I lost my entire chosen family, don’t really know how many friends I quit counting. I’m a long term AIDS survivor and still lose friends to AIDS.
