I'm 56 now, when I was 19 I had a miscarriage, the hemorrhaging was so bad I received volumes of blood. I was recisitated 3 times, I just found out May 2014 that I'm hep c positive GENOTYPE 1a naive. My doctors have ruled all else out and this is a result of ALL the blood I received from my miscarriage. Not only do I suffer the loss of my baby, I now suffer the loss of being healthy. I have gone through anguish over my loss, now I know the anxiety of being hep c positive along with my loss.

Great piece, and well done focusing on the folks most affected by "bad blood." Thanks, Shawn!

It is my hope and prayer that we will be able to celebrate blood safety forever and ever, and that no one ever has to live or die through another tainted blood tragedy. My son would have celebrated his 48th birthday on 9/26/2014, had he lived. I live with his beautiful memory on a daily basis, and always wonder what his life would had been had he lived. I know I am not alone with these same thoughts. Thanks for keeping the history of these souls alive, and our blood supply safe.
