I am keenly interested in these kinds of stories especially because I am TOTALLY afraid tostart treatment yet my CD4 count is now at 100. Please lets keep in touch?

What a pessimistic page I'm reading! Do you all think negatice people will live forever and are healthier than us?? some children soffer from cancer since the day of their birth....a lot of people die because of natural, air disasters and car accidents...so enjoy every single day of your life, noone knows how long we are going to live! Sorry for my English, I'm Italian!

I am newly diagnosed, October 2009, and turning 40 next month. My viral load is relatively low and CD4 above 600. This article and all the comments that follow scare the hell out of me. If i had cancer treatment would have started already. I'm so confused as to what to do. Everyone including my healthcare provider has a different opinion. Its all so much!

Well that's nice. I always wanted to grow older, faster. What I don't like is this free-floating FAT that's at my waist, going into my armpits and sides of my face. By gosh, quite soon I'll look like a male gorilla!! There is a cure in tesamorelin, having successfully passed Trial III. Problem is there are people like my HIV specialist hasn't even heard of it! Believe it! And there are some of the affected who are so disillusioned by the apparent indifference they're thinking seriously of taking

At age 44 I began menapause and finished by age 47. I, too, had been saying for years what is finally being made aware. Being on ARVs for 20 years has done wonders for my life span, and I don't begrudge losing my monthly "gift", but at what cost? I've got a degenerating spine, high cholesterol, restless legs... all signs of a healthy woman 10 to 15 years my senior.

I was wondering what could account for the inflammation of the joints in my hand. I had began to chalk it up to a genetic link to arthritis on my mother's side. I was all set to ask my healthcare provider about remedies that might not interfere with my antivirals and now I read that my antivirals may be more of a cause of my inflammation than genetics. Talk about things that make you go Hmm? This article is not only relevant to those who are older with HIV.

I always appreciate medical research comments. Sometimes, though, I believe that 'hype' continues without any real foundation. Be careful of what you read, no matter where it comes from. This one got my attention without identifying any real control based research. There are a gazillion different reasons for each individual response to any disease process. There is usually a singular reason for getting people to pay more money.
