I used this cream 3 times last week for persistent low-grade HPV I had been treating with laser for the past 2.5 years. The warts disappeared with the first treatment, but was prescribed for 3x per week, so I applied two more doses. By the weekend, my anus was on fire and still is. Drs need to prescribe this with extreme caution and abundant warning, with no "one size fits all" dosing. I would say "stop using the instant the warts disappear, re-applying ONLY for recurrance".

I've had great results with Aldara cream (imiquimod). My HPV-related anal dysplasia (that I had had for y-e-a-r-s) disappeared practically overnight with intermittent & sparing use, over a few months, of the topical treatment. I'm very pleased.

I used aldara as described in the article. It caused severe cramping in the muscles of the lower body, especially the calves. It may have caused nerve damage in the same area.
