I run a clinic here in New Zealand and we have not had any adverse effects at all. no site infections etc...however we do use a product called Aquamid 97.5% water and 2.5% polyacramide it is permanent usually 4-12 mls is all that is needed. Aquamid is a swedish product and I must admit surpasses in my opinion all other temporary facial fillers...
