This study looked at results for a three year period. Of course someone who starts ARVs at 500 or more CD4s is not doing so because they think they might die in three years. These decisions are ideally made with a much longer time frame in mind. There are so many other variables to consider, such as inflammation levels with and without ARVs and what those imply, etc. This study does not answer any questions that were not already answered anecdotally.
