The FDA's decision is dissapointing. I'm a college student that got vaccinated a few months ago before I was sexually active. The bureaucracy hadn't approved it by then, so the total cost was over $400, which is not easy when you're a student. It's doubtful that my insurance will cover this anyways. Unfortunately other gay men don't seem to be aware of the prevalence of HPV and I probably wouldn't have heard of it if I wasn't a premed.
