I made this connection anecdotally about 8 years ago, but what do I know I'm just someone living with HIV. I had an ex who had shingles young & I saw other cases of shingles in young gay men as well. The HIV COMMUNITY NEEDS TO STRENGTHEN THEIR CONNECTION WITH THE POZ COMMUNITY & not just use us to make quotas.

I'm absolutely flabbergasted at the connection this article now makes between shingles and HIV, as well as the need to test people with shingles for HIV. How long has this connection been known and why isn't anyone talking about it? My late husband had a case of shingles about 4 years before he died of AIDS-related pneumonia but was never tested. Why not? And I had shingles a few years later (after he died) and was never tested. Why did I have to nearly die of AIDS before I was tested?
