I was diganosed last 2/7/09. Seen my MD last week. My baseline CD4 was 480 and viral load of 22000. My CD4 the other day is 430. I dont have any symptoms. My MD does not want to start me on ARV as long as my CD4 is above 350. Any input on my case? THanks!

I was diagnosed 6 years and 8 months ago. I haven't started any regiment yet. My CD4 is around 700 and my viral load is around 3100. It was alot worse two years ago. I eliminated my stress and my numbers improved tremendously. From experience, eliminate your stress factors and you can overcome HIV/AIDS with ease.

'Was diagnosed in 1987, T-Cell count 600-650. My MD, put me on AZT (only thing available back then) instead of waiting for cell cnt. to fall below 500.Was put on ARV when that became available (mid 90's?.My viral load - "undetectable" for 12+ years, & my T-cells last month - 1,460! My count hasn't been below 600 since early intervention & NO OPPORTUNISTIC INFECTIONS!And I'm still alive & kicking (53 yrs, THANK GOD and MY MD)! Early intervention? YES!!!

t cell counts as low as 40 are normal in the hiv negative blood supply of healthy people according to a CDC MMWR article published in 1992 - i tried to post the link to the article here but it wouldn't work. please search the cdc mmwr website.
