Coffee Helps Minimize Hepatitis C Treatment Side Effects

This REALLY surprises me. When I did the treatment(peg/ribavirin), I suffered quite a bit from side-effects, despite drinking five or six cups of coffee a day. Could I have suffered more if I hadn't drank so much? I shudder to think about it. However, I also had a very early and strong response(undetectable by week six, sustained for nearly ten years so far), as reported in the article on HepMag linked to above. So maybe I have something to thank coffee for after all. Thanks, coffee!

I have been on 2 regimens of Rib-and Peg ifn. and am 1 month into incivik. This study may be less accurate because at a point coffee becomes intolerable. I can still drink it, bu expect as before to be unable to drink as I progress. Tom
