Why different rates? Syphilis doesn't present the same as gonorrhea and chlamydia--with those two you have major symptoms, and most people would stop having sex until that clears up. With syphilis--in men, a chancre--often painless--often appears in the genital area, usually on the penis. Very different, and easier to neglect than "I have discharge coming out of my urethra." Those with syphilis keep barebacking and spreading the disease, those with other STIs stop, and stop spreading their STIs.
"...TDF, inhibit a certain immune response and ultimately result in the replication of older immune cells with a limited ability to protect against certain pathogens..." I have celiac disease and am taking Genvoya. I'm wondering if this med has suppressed my immune system's response to gluten. Recently, I've eaten some wheat rolls and other wheat products and noticed no response to those at all where before I started treatment for, I'd suffer the reaction typical of celiac disease sufferers.
