In 2 years the world has gone from the discovery of a New Virus, Covid 19, to rolling out on a global scale not one Vaccine , not 2 or even 3 vaccines but many more vaccines. All of which ate targeting C19. This amazing feat was done by throwing all the conventional historical rules and regulations about developing medicines for Humans out the window and it appears to have worked!!!. So why the last paragraph in the Article. Why not approach HIV same way we approached Covid19.

I will not be surprised if something happens and it is not successful. Pharmaceuticals make way too much money from those infected versus a cure. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for that positive out come from these test. If I still lived in DC I surely would have volunteered.

I am excited to hear of this...but it's been SO long awaited that I will not be holding my breath. I am a healthy + (LTS), so I would likely not be a "prime target" for such a vaccine. However, I hope it IS eventually successful, and, perhaps, another "hidden blessing" in the development of vaccine approaches based in response to Covid-19...as were anti-retrovirals in response to HIV/AIDS???
