I was on a couple of these programs and was approved for renewal. My ins has a $10,000yr cap on rx. My rx costs are $56,000..I WAS taking my last treatment options due to resistance until I was cut off by these programs for having insurance, regardless of the cap and for making too much money - the amount of a yrs supply of RX. AND none of them care that they just cut off my last FDA APPROVED treatment. Thank You PAP'S
This is a wonderful program, thanks to God and AIDSMED for the news. May I be advised on how I can get the assistance; I am from Africa with a monthly income of US$250
How about a person like me that has insurance, but they deny coverage for HIV claiming pre-existing condition, or only will pay for one prescription every 90 days and my deductible of $5800.00 has to be met first? Arrrg!
These PAPs have never been secret. I knew about them 11 years ago when I worked at AIDS Project Los Angeles. Also, PPARx (Montel Williams is the spokesman) has been advertising them for at least the past 5-6.

There is a new issue I have seen recently. Insurance companies are now offering plans with very high deductible before they cover any meds and patients are unable to pay out thousands of dollars and due to income, are being denied assistance through the PAP programs. The co-pay assist cards don't help until they have met their deductible.
