This break in research is amazing and finally surfacing as a long awaited focus on HIV treatment and prevention. I only hope that America's healthcare reform doesn't stall these efforts as the religiou right are strongly influencing the way congress "should" work.

Although I am skeptical of a cure, given my background in Bio/Med Science, the results look promising for better treatment regiments. A cure, I doubt it. No virus based disease has ever been cured with a vaccine. Prevention, yes. Eradication of a virus from the planet, yes. For us that already have HIV, the best to hope for is better life increasing treatments. But I do have hope gene therapies and stem-cell research will show humanity something new.
