Is this enough proof that over the counter self HIV rapid screening kits should and must be deployed in USA's free market place. The truth can help in the stima and new cases each year for truth is always a good thing. I must ommit I am taking back that over 20 years of this technology and still ASOs leadership and government are sticking their head in the sand when it comes to over the counter HIV screening kits of all kind. Why, if government is paying for these kits why change the cash pig.
To get people to test there must be a greater awareness of the problem. The general public is unaware and therefore does not perceive themselves at risk. Stigma drives this epidemic and information can go a long way to dispel myths that still exist 30 years into the epidemic - like you can get HIV from casual contact etc...People do not understand transmission. Testing is simple, accurate and available but not routinely asked for or offered in primary care settings. This needs to change.
I'm sure we will see a rise in this, if your tested and know then the discolsure laws take effect. Looking at it now with the current system in place it's best not to know from a legal point of view.Â
Long way to go yet to address what is a serious issue of under reporting, call it ostrich syndrome, because from a scientific (pure science view point) the statistics mentioned may not be mathematically accurate.....The truth is that the numbers of infected individuals may be much higher than previously considered, due to a number of reasons, bad math, (statistical modeling) errors in reporting mechanisms, political pressure to show lower rates of infection, creating a false data pool,(
Here is another study that clearly shows that self HIV rapid screening kits need to be open for people to buy in their local drug store. It is said that liberal aids advocates will advocate for needle exchange programs but then continue to stick their head in the sand to send teenagers to a life of HIV. because of control of pre tion dollars on to protect
How r they going to avoid infections when the current test arent even picking up all HIV infections. Many ppl are going undetected even after testing several times n collecting several negatives results but then a few years after a risk they show up at hospitals with an aids like disease. HIV testing needs to be rethought n a better testing method needs to be used so that all infections can be identified n this disease can be stopped. But till then this disease will continue to plague us all.
